Space

We won't be in this space for much longer. We were planning to go to Schiehavenhallen, but the renovations there will take too long - probably over a year - and we're not willing to wait for that. Fortunately PlaceBASED offered us space in "De Kroon" as an alternative. It's a warehouse, very close to our current location and we will probably have access around first of July.

The proposed space is 152sqm on a first floor, entresol. There is a small kitchen with water and some dishes a small distance away from us and a big shared kitchen a little further away (the "Woonkamer") with all kinds of kitchen equipment, big enough to make a meal with some tables and chairs. The warehouse is more modern than our current place, for example, it looks insulated. The community that's already there is already very healty. Our neighbours will be all kinds of other creative endeavors, e.g. 3D-printing chairs.

Currently the floor only has fences, so we'll have to make walls ourselves. The current renters will leave building materials behind, along with a few workbenches. There's a lot of power and internet. The warehouse is a clean warehouse, so there's no woodworking there, and we shouldn't be doing it either.

The strong wish of PlaceBASED and we agree on that is to not make it a fort again and keep a open character. Because it is a clean warehouse without sawdust we can do that

The new place will have OpenR for the shared entrance, and a custom solution for our private door.

There is a plan to put up a whiteboard in the current space with a drawing of what the place will be like. Based on that we can brainstorm for ideas on how to build out the new space.

Finances

Unfortunately the price for the new space is a bit high, €1200. The first year we'll receive a discount, so we'll pay around €959. Our current revenue is about €700, so we'll need to bring in quite a bit extra. There are some plans to promote growth, but they are on hold because we can't really grow in our current space. We need about 15 extra participants.

The board proposed raising the paricipation fee to €35.50, there were no objections from the people that were present. If the new price is too high for someone to afford, just contact the board, and they will accomodate you.

Legal issues

Some time we were confronted with a legal issue (details omitted here). We will go to court in Dordrecht at 16:25. This is a combined criminal and civil suit. The hearing is public, to attend you need to register with the court ahead of time, and bring ID. Contact the board if you need more information.
